Shrewsbury Town Football Fixtures for February 2019

Shrewsbury starts off the month against pole position Luton Town who we imagine will be the least of Sam Rickett’s Shrewsbury Town as the FA Cup replay looms just days later.

What we’re all talking about right now is that game, Wolves vs Shrewsbury Town away at the Arena Stadium. After the last performance, it’s possible that the underdogs could get their way and progress to round five, but it’s going to be tough. Wolves have the upper hand with a home game, plus the experience to match the play of town.

The good news is following the FA Cup round match Shrewsbury face relegation zone Bristol Rovers on Sat 9th February not a bad away match, followed by mid-table Burton at home on the 16th Feb 2019.

Then it gets tougher with Peterborough on the 23rd, followed by Doncaster on the 26th February at position six and seven in the League One table respectively. Let’s hope for an FA Cup success against Wolves to keep those spirits riding high.

Liverpool Fixtures

Still clinging to the top spot, Liverpool looks to have an easy, albeit busy February starting with West Ham on Mon 4th February from 20:00, which we’ll be showing on our screens. That’s followed by Bournemouth on Sat 9th Feb (a Six Nations clash).

The greater challenge comes mid-month beginning with the first leg of the 8th Finals of the Champions League against Bayern which we’ll be showing at Albert’s Shed on Tues 19th Feb from 8pm. Although the teams have only met seven times they are equally matched, so it will be a great one to watch.

Liverpool vs Man U on Saturday 24th at 14:05 clashes with Six Nations games but we’ll get it up on one of our screens. Not only is Liverpool historically the stronger team, but they’re on form too. Nether-the-less it will be a great game, no doubt.

The final match of the month for Liverpool is against mid-table Watford who should pose no threat. The biggest question is what’s going on with the title contesters, Man City.

City only has three Premier League games this month two of which are against strong competition including Arsenal and Chelsea, that plus the Carabao Cup Final against Chelsea on Sunday 24th February (showing at Albert’s Shed) from 16:30. City also has an FA Cup 5th round game and an 8th Final leg 1 of the Champions League to contest with. So it could mean a severely depleted team going into March.

Wolves Fixtures for February

The less said about Shrewsbury Town the better after a narrow draw on Sat 26th January. But the following fixtures in February for Wolves look pretty great. Beginning with mid-league Everton on Sat 2nd Feb, followed by that 4th round replay against Shrewsbury at home.

Mon 11th Feb sees an easy home game victory against Newcastle and then a slightly tougher match against Bournemouth on Sat 23rd February, which also clashes with the Six Nations games.

To close the month Wolves have the pleasure of playing league bottom Huddersfield on Tues 26th which I’m sure they’ll be glad of.
