Their debut gig at Loopfest was one of the finest this writer has ever seen, they have followed it up with some absolutely brilliant singles and are now one of the finest riot grrrl/punky/rocky bands in the country. Quite simply, they f**king rock.

GIRLBAND! are an alternative three-piece from Nottingham; A formidable force for good and a dynamic group that pull on influences from the 50s to the 90s, creating a joyous, natural musical palette cleanser like no other.

A punk band making pop songs, influences include other seminal three-pieces such as Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana and The Police, as well female-led groups such as The Breeders, The Cranberries and The Pretenders. The girls are, in their own words, ‘a bulletproof wolfpack’.

Coach Party grew up on the Isle of Wight. Musically, Coach Party are inspired by a broad palate of artists, but always find themselves drawn back to Nirvana, Sonic Youth and The Strokes, and contemporary artists like Wolf Alice, The Big Moon and Tame Impala. Ultimately though, Coach Party’s primary drive to write and perform music comes from “the often entertaining struggle of real life.”

Five piece indiepop band who have the combined age of around 41. How a band so youthful can create a live show that is so incredible is beyond our comprehension, but we’re mighty glad to have them here.

An all-female five-piece with an unapologetically raw and raucous energy, Untamed Shrews are a force to be reckoned with. Known for their incredible cover choices and electrifying stage presence, they’ve become LOOPFEST favourites and champions of the festival’s rock’n’roll spirit. Delivering a show packed with attitude and adrenaline, this Shrewsbury-based band guarantees a high-octane experience that leaves audiences wanting more.

Four piece from that there Lannnndarn, who have just released a scrumptious EP in ‘The End and Beginning’.

They flirt with old fashioned rock’n’roll, the occasional ska rhythm and gigantic singalong choruses.

They know how to harmonise, as well as how to prompt a big shouty chorus. What more can you ask for?

Self-described as Uplift Angst, British/Latina MeMe Detroit is an indie/grunge/pop-inspired, genre-merging, high-octane breath of vivacity with an unforgettable live show that has pure passion for music at its heart.

Coventry alt-rockers who will possibly be the best dressed band at this years LOOPFEST.

Like their clothing, these guys are smoooooooth af, and will bring their wonkyrockaltpop to Shrewsbury for the first time and we’re certain you’re gonna love ‘em.

Well loved and respected on the festival circuit, LK are tight on the rhythm and loose on the groove.

Red by Night has built a formidable local following and earned a reputation as a ‘must see’ live act. The band is steadily making its mark both on stage and in the studio, honing their craft with each performance and recording.

Didgeridoo? Yes. Balloon solos? Why not. Beatboxing with acoustic shouty singalongs? Naturally. If you’ve seen them, you know you will see them again, if you haven’t then, boy howdy, you’re making some bad life choices.

Far too talented for a band their age, with musical chops that would shame a veteran. Old school rock and metal with a panache that only the youthful can achieve. Now get to bed, it’s a school night.

We think they’re doing themselves a disservice calling themselves Average. So, we’ve changed their name (they don’t know this yet) to Exceptional Papa Troupe. Come down for some Dad bants and party tunes.

Manchester-based indie/post-punk band who’s causing quite a stir as of late. Recently voted record of the month by Manchester’s Mayor Andy Burnham. Andy has to be onto something here like.

‘Brass-fuelled Bristolian Skapunk Raucus’ is how their own opinion of themselves, and who are we to argue? Well, we could add that they have a live show that will get you jumping in your docs and skanking like Lord Skanky.

Angular six-piece, who present their own post-punk with a dark synthpop undertone. Introspective lyrics flirt with bombastic musicianship that will have you longing for the days of the Hacienda.

Phenomenal and ferocious rock’n’roll. Witty, abrasive, and brilliant, Bridget. is a one woman cacophony of riot grll infused punk rock and we can’t wait to get in the pit for her.

London indie-rockers Bluntknees boast of no guitars and create a heavy audio experience that pushes the boundaries between trip-hop, alternative rock, electronic, psychedelic, and contemporary classical influences.
