Without The Music Venue Trust, the charity founded in 2014 to help protect and support Britain’s independent grassroots music venues, there is a good chance Albert’s Shed would not still be around, currently enjoying its eight year of championing grassroots live music from Shropshire and beyond.

The MVT recently launched an initiative with The Independent newspaper called Main Stage, which every month for a year, will highlight one grassroots music venue, working around the 12 regions of the UK.

We are proud to announce that Albert’s Shed has been selected from the West Midlands region and here you can read The Independent’s Music Editor Roisin O’Connor’s interview with David Gregg of Albert’s Shed.

The whole team at Albert’s Shed are overjoyed to see their contribution to the local grassroots music scene recognised in this way and look forward to exciting times ahead. The organisation’s plans include a venue refurbishment which will increase audience capacity, along with upgraded green room facilities for artists, which they hope will help to attract more touring acts to Shropshire.
