Albert’s Songwriters Showcase
Every Wednesday at 8:30pm it’s Albert’s Songwriters Showcase.
Expect to see amazingly creative musicians delivering stellar performances at Albert’s Shed in Shrewsbury.
THIS WEEK FEATURING PERFORMANCES BY:
ALAN JENKINS
Alan’s been writing and performing original songs for a few years now. He’s been featured on both BBC Introducing and the Narrowboat Sessions. He doesn’t take himself too seriously and his songs take a sideways look at life. He’s really looking forward to this gig and hopes people enjoy his songs
HOUSEMAN
A big sounding hard and melodic 3 piece in the tradition of The Hendrix Experience, Cream, and Nirvana. 3 singer songwriters who bounce off each other creatively and sonically. They have influences from pop to slipknot and most places inbetween and a mission to get your audience dancing

Midwich Cuckoos + The Red Bastards
Another massive rockin’ line-up at Albert’s Shed Shrewsbury in conjunction with Indigo-Bravo Promotions.
THE RED BASTARDS – 20:30
Born and raised in West Wales, on a diet of punk, metal and horror films. These guys are raw and punk AF. Get down and check them out!
MIDWICH CUCKOOS – 21.30
Wanna know more about Midwich Cuckoos? Think a 12-legged misfit, blasting out Fleetwood Mac with a punk rock attitude! And supporting them is The Red Bastards… Punk, punk and a bit more punk. I don’t know what else you would expect from a band called ‘The Red Bastards’. They’re also a brutally brilliant live act who will make you want to grow a mohawk and start a riot.
Friday 28th June 2024 · Albert’s Shed Shrewsbury · from 9pm · FREE ENTRY until 10pm

LOOPFEST X Albert’s Shed All-Dayer
LOOPFEST is all ruddy het up and quivering with anticipation about the first fundraiser which is taking place on Sat 29th June at Albert’s Shed.
We have arranged quite the line-up for ya, highlighting some of Shropshire’s best original artists. We have a quite incredibly eclectic day in store, genres including acoustic, rock, ska, punk, indie, and post-Bavarian drum’n’bass oompah-loompah infused jazz metal.*
We will also be selling wristbands for next years event and providing all this wonderful entertainment for FREE (though you will have to pay £5 if you head in after 9pm – so you may as well get there for FREE at three ain’t ya bab?).
*One of these genres might not be showcased during the event.
KATE ROSE RAINFORD – 14:30
SECRET ACT TBC – 15:30
Goth. Funny old business innit? Drinking extra strong cider in graveyards and discussing the finer works of Edgar Allen Poe. I mean, sure sounds fun, but not as fun as seeing this band who are a deliciously, dark, gothy post-punk proposition with choons to die for. Get your eyeliner and docs on, we’re going dancing.
WEEKEND DAD – 16:30
From the ashes of ‘Bad Fiancès’ David Molby returns with an altogether rockier/indier/punkier sound. With musicians from Gauche, Missing Fingers and Good To Go.
BOOM BOOM WOMB – 17:30
Dirty, feral, and cute as a button. That’s enough about my cat, but hey, it’s also a great way to describe the Boom Boomers as nobody is calling them. Punk af riot grrrrllls grooves with an incredible stage presence. Simply awesome.
JACK EVANS – 18:30
Yet another incredibly talented young performer we’re excited to bring to LOOPFEST. Armed with just an acoustic guitar and a loop pedal, Jack is a charmer and effortlessly wows a crowd.
GREYSHA – 20.30
BBC Radio Shropshire adores her, and we do too, combining classic songwriting seamlessly with crisp modern production; if there’s only one sultry songstress (whose merch includes branded pants) you see this year, make sure it’s Greysha.
LF – 21:30
They’ll remind you of ‘90s indie with a little bit of the rawer sounds from the 00s; if I put my NME journalistic hat on, imagine Blur having a hand shandy with The Cribs around the back of Happy Shopper.
SMOKE LIKE A FISH – 22:30
With an up-tempo two-toned Ska-pop-punkish attack, Smoke like a Fish from Mid Wales relentlessly pump the offbeat with groove and aggression, behind brass splattered riffs, catchy choruses and social commentary.
Sunday 30th June 2024 · Albert’s Shed Shrewsbury · from 5pm · FREE ENTRY
