Albert’s Comedy Shed #10
Albert’s Comedy Shed is a monthly comedy club in Telford featuring a breadth of comedic talent from across the UK, handpicked by bigwigs at Ingenious Fools and performed at Albert’s Shed Southwater featuring: Tal Davies, Kevin Daniel, Freddy Quinne & MC Ricky Balshaw.
Deadpan Brummie Tal Davies is an emerging comedian and writer who was crowned Best Breakthrough Act at the 2021 Midlands Comedy Awards. Since starting out in 2019, Tal’s performed at comedy clubs and festivals all over the UK, and was a Funny Women semi-finalist as well as being shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Award. Her comedy writing has been recognised by BBC WritersRoom, who invited her to be part of the 2021 Coventry Voices programme, and the strength of her writing can also be seen on stage, as she balances toe-curling anecdotes with dry observational humour.
Originally from Glasgow, he has spent his working life in the corporate world of low finance and recently decided to venture into the realms of stand up comedy. Despite only starting to perform comedy in June of 2019, Kevin has already been nominated for Best Newcomer at the Midlands Comedy Awards and a finalists in numerous New Comedian Competitions (he’s yet to actually win one though).
His warm and honest storytelling style deals with the daily trials and tribulations of a man trying to survive life unscathed. You can keep up with and follow his comedy journey using the links below
“Kevin is probably one of the hottest properties on the Midlands circuit right now. Having started only a few years ago he’s stormed his way onto the upper echelons of the circuit with his outrageous storytelling techniques that will leave you wanting more” Doorstep Comedy (Adam O’Reardon)
Based in Manchester, award-winning comedian Freddy Quinne’s “uniquely northern observational humour” (Lancashire Evening Post) has seen a meteoric rise into some of the biggest clubs in the country. Quinne couples “clever, well placed gags” (Pickled Egg) together with a vulnerable persona for a unique experience which combines to make “a real tour de force performance” (Alex Boardman). His willingness to break away from his set and involve the crowd leads for an engaging and memorable set backed up with frantic energy and raw emotion.
MC Ricky Balshaw
BBC New Comedy Award semi-finalist Ricky Balshaw is a former Paralympic, World Championship and European Championship dressage medallist, and sports pundit, with a penchant for dark humour. Join Ricky for a reliably twisted and hilarious look at the unique social and physical challenges he faces as a disabled person as well as having his masculinity challenged just because he rides horses.
