This Wednesday, April 16th, at 8.30 PM, we invite you to Albert’s Shed for an inspiring night of original music, featuring three incredible acts that embody the spirit of artistry and the power of songwriting.

CATHY BEECH

Cathy is a true entertainer with bold and beautiful songs inspired by the likes of Eva Cassidy, Karen Carpenter, Dolly Parton, Janis Joplin and many grassroots singer-songwriters from around Shropshire.

BARRY WILLIAMS

Barry Williams is a Shrewsbury-based singer-songwriter originally hailing from Welshpool, Mid Wales. He released his debut solo album ‘Open Book’ earlier this year and has had several tracks played on BBC Introducing Shropshire, amongst other stations.

WATERMELON CHRONICLES

The band formed in 2021 and feature three highly experienced players with a frightening number of years of gigging experience between them. Although well known in the area as a covers band with tunes from the likes of Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Pearl Jam, the band have quietly (well, perhaps not ‘quietly’) been introducing their original material into their set. This evening’s Songwriters Showcase will mark the second time the band have played an evening of exclusively original material.
