Songwriters Showcase feat. Josh Lobley & Wolf Apple

Born and raised amongst the Shropshire Hills in the small market town of Shrewsbury, Josh Lobley is a singer songwriter who prides himself on his unique but catchy style.

With influences and inspirations from Frank Turner, early Green Day & Billy Bragg, Josh also adds a hint of folk to the mix to give his compositions a unique and diverse sound that draws on the best of all of his influences.

Josh’s passion to write about his daily goings on and how he perceives the world allows his audience to engage and relate to each of his tracks.

With three EP’s available to purchase, Josh’s songs show a depth and diversity that is winning him fans across the music industry.

Josh last year released his third EP “Fireside Lullabies” to critical acclaim and his latest single “Digital Age” is an incredible opening shot from a record that is full of emotion and erudite lyrics that lift the soul and shine a light on the human condition.

Following this Josh dropped his debut single “To This Point” in July 2021 showing off his new found folk vibes.

Wolf Apple are a duo from Wolverhampton comprising singer-songwriter Griff and bass-player Gaz. Their original songs are intriguing and they always enjoy performing live.

Griff’s songs often seem lyrically straightforward but are frequently laced with wry humour, a barbed edge or intense romanticism, inspired by classic English songwriting. The songs tackle human themes of depression, heartbreak, observational storytelling and sometimes even contentment.

Gaz is an accomplished bass player, with extensive live experience whose artful bass lines complement Griff’s charming and inventive guitar work. Together the music is melodic and taut, ranging from acoustic-rock to alternative.

Their songs have been variously compared to: The Beatles, The Smiths, Lou Reed, R.E.M., Frank Turner, Radiohead, Paul Heaton & Elliot Smith.
