MC Ricky Balshaw
BBC New Comedy Award semi-finalist Ricky Balshaw is a former Paralympic, World Championship and European Championship dressage medallist, and sports pundit, with a penchant for dark humour. Join Ricky for a reliably twisted and hilarious look at the unique social and physical challenges he faces as a disabled person as well as having his masculinity challenged just because he rides horses. As seen on BBC One, BBC Three and Channel 4.
One of the most inventive comic voices in Britain, Caroline Mabey is a fringe and circuit favourite, appearing at festivals, theatres and clubs all around the country. Silly, warm and sharp as hell, she always creates a gag-packed frenzy of fun. She is a brilliant and accomplished MC, having been resident compere at the 99 Club for ten years.
“Mabey is thoroughly enjoyable company…the slightly deranged offspring of a menage a trois between Vic Reeves, Harry Hill and Floella Benjamin”
“A mischievous, kooky talent”
“Fabulous off-the-wall lines…will endure in the memory long after you’ve forgotten every word from the big-name stand-ups”
“No-one has made us laugh as much at this Fringe”
An energetic, confident and silly Brummie who combines silly voices and a mad afro to devastating comic effect.
Andy has numerous media appearances, including the BBC New Comedy Awards on BBC Choice, Brand Spanking New on BBC Radio 7 and his winning performance on the Weakest Link comedian’s special!
His appearance on the BBC quiz show featured in his five star (* * * * * Three Weeks) Edinburgh show, ‘It Started With A Quiz’ in 2007. This followed on from his well-received one man show at the 2005 Leicester Comedy Festival: Young, Gifted and Beige.
“Had me exercising my pelvic floor muscles to avoid an accident”
